RPM Jade Review

RPM Jade pickleball paddle
86/100
Excellent

Consensus score (provisional)

The Jade is RPM swinging at the top of the market: a full-foam MPP core and a silicon carbide face the company says will hold its grit for months instead of weeks. Two weeks after launch, the lab numbers are elite and The Kitchen Pickle ranks it the best full-foam paddle they have tested. The honest caveat: almost nobody has played it for long yet, so this score is provisional.

Consensus score 86/100 (Excellent), provisional — aggregated Oct 2026 from early reviews and lab data. The consensus verdict

Best for

Advanced attackers who want top-tier measured spin and full-foam power with control, and who accept early-adopter risk.

Not for

Beginners, bargain hunters, and anyone who needs the durability question answered before spending $269.99.

Consensus 86/100 · Excellent · Provisional

Weighted from Matt’s Pickleball lab data (2,464 RPM serve spin, a #2 debut on his leaderboard), The Kitchen Pickle’s #1 full-foam ranking, Pickleball Central’s expert review, JustPaddles lab numbers, and early video playtests. No source has published long-term wear data yet, and the most rigorous tester has one match on it and will not recommend it yet. That is why this score is provisional.

What reviewers agree on

Strengths

  • Elite measured spin. A #2 debut on Matt’s Pickleball spin leaderboard at 2,464 RPM, on a face that measures mid-pack for raw roughness. The spin is coming from the construction, not just grit.
  • Full-foam feel with control. Predictable response and real dwell, especially the 16mm. Reviewers put resets and drops a class above the launchy foam paddles.
  • Reach without the tax. The elongated is 16.5 inches long but swings at 112, so the leverage does not cost you at the kitchen.
  • Two thicknesses that actually differ. The 14mm is firmer and faster with a little more grab; the 16mm is softer and steadier. Early testers split by playing style, which is a good sign.

Weaknesses & caveats

  • The durability pitch is unproven. Long-lasting grit is the entire reason this paddle exists, and there is no long-term independent data yet. One video reviewer says the 16mm face gets stickier as it wears in. That is a promising anecdote, not proof.
  • Top-shelf price. $269.99 is the most expensive paddle RPM sells. Codes soften it to roughly $230–245, which is still premium money.
  • Thin playtest depth. The toughest lab tester has one match on it and says so. Other first impressions are weeks old, and at least one podcast split love-it versus underwhelmed.
  • Elongated twist weight is low. 6.0–6.2 on the long shape means off-center contact wobbles. The widebody (6.8–6.9) is the steadier build.

Who it's for

Who it's for

  • 3.5+ attackers who create their own pace (14mm)
  • All-court players who want foam power with softer resets (16mm)
  • Spin-first players who track the lab leaderboards

Pro usage

RPM is pro James Ignatowich’s company. Verified tour usage of the Jade itself is not established at last check; the company says the launch ran with almost no reviewer seeding, which is partly why coverage is thin.

Jade FAQs

How much does it cost?

$269.99 list, the priciest paddle RPM sells. Reviewer codes land around $230–245.

Does the grit really last?

Unproven so far. The silicon carbide pitch is durability, backed by brand-cited cannon testing. Long-term independent data does not exist yet, hence the provisional score.

14mm or 16mm?

14mm for firmer, faster, spinnier offense. 16mm for dwell, stability, and resets. Widebody if you miss the sweet spot.
