Grit

The face texture that generates spin. And often the first thing that wears out.

Spin is face texture grabbing the ball during contact. Three ways brands do it: spray-on grit (great in week one, wears fast), raw carbon weave (durable, consistent), and peel-ply or molded texture (rough and long-lasting).

We track reviewer spin reports over time, because grit durability is half the spin story. The half nobody advertises. Governing bodies also cap face roughness, so "more grit" has a legal ceiling.
