Lead tape & customization
Adding tape weight to tune balance, stability, and swing weight. The cheapest performance mod in the sport.
A few grams of lead (or tungsten) tape changes a paddle in a real way. At the throat: stability, minimal swing-weight cost. At 3 and 9 o'clock: higher twist weight, bigger sweet spot. At the head: more power, more swing weight. Start with 1–2g per side, play a session, adjust.
It is also the answer to "do pros use the retail version?" Pro frames get customized this way. Sometimes heavily — which is why our tracker treats pro gear as research, not a shopping list.
